11. Marking of blades. The blades shall be tagged, labeled, or marked to identify the blade and manufacturer.
12. Performance. Each band saw blade shall be capable of meeting the sawing requirements specified in table V. The test material shall be AISI 1018 cold drawn steel bars. Sawing shall be performed with a blade tension as recommended by the power metal cutting band saw manufacturer for the specific size band saw blade being procured. Sawing shall be performed on a power metal cutting band saw as appropriate for the specific style and size band saw blade being procured.

Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard No. 376, and all other requirements of this document are met.
If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.
Regulatory requirements. In accordance with section 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, the Government’s policy is to acquire items composed of highest percentage of recovered materials practicable, consistent with maintaining a satisfactory level of competition without adversely affecting performance requirements or exposing supplier’s employees to undue hazards from the recovered materials.
Environmental protection. During the manufacture of the blade, materials hazardous to the ecological system as prohibited by the Federal state, or local statutes in effect on the date of the contract shall not be used or emitted.
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking shall be as specified in the contract order.
